SeNPV Bt Biological Insecticide
Spodoptera exigua nuclear polyhedrosis virus (SeNPV) combined with Bt is an environmentally friendly microbial pesticide that effectively controls Spodoptera exigua and other lepidoptera pests. When sprayed onto crops and ingested by pests, the virus particles replicate and multiply within the pest's body, rapidly spreading throughout all tissues. This causes pests to stop feeding and moving during infection, creating a sub-lethal effect that ultimately leads to death. The virus also affects newly hatched larvae when they consume contaminated egg shells, with virus particles continuing to spread to subsequent generations and other pests through body fluids and feces for long-term field pest control.
